Next-Gen Maruti Suzuki Ertiga - Desined to Impress
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga - Technology meets style
When we talk about a family car, we are always in the search of a 7 or maybe an eight-seater but, what about the budget, mileage, service, and safety. Now to answer all these questions asked by me, I think Maruti has already launched a car, way back in 2012. It's the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, sold as XL6 by Nexa and they are planning to launch XL7 as well. I think Ertiga is one of the best family seven-seater available in the market. So let's have a look at some of the technical specifications and features of the car.
There is only one engine on offer, the 1462cc petrol engine, with two fuel options, petrol, and CNG. However, CNG is only available in the LXI and VXI, manual. Mileage of the car is more than expected by a seven-seater, 17.90kmpl for the petrol and 26.08 km/kg for the CNG variant.

The all-new Maruti Suzuki has managed to score 3 stars in the GNCAP crash test, which is an average score. In this segment, Renault Triber has managed to score 4 stars. However, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is built on the heart tech platform which is lighter and built with high-strength steel, this is what Maruti claims. Safety features inside the car include:
- Dual Airbags
- ABS
- EBD
- Central locking Rear Parking Camera

7. Entertainment and Communication
There are very limited entertainment features in the new Ertiga, however, they are more than sufficient for a seven-seater car, Some of the important Entertainment and communication-related features in the all-new Ertiga are :
- Audio system with Radio
- Speakers Front & Rear with two tweeters
- USB & Auxillary ports
- Bluetooth connectivity
- 7 inch Touch screen
- Android Auto and Apple car play
Conclusion - I think there is a serious need for Maruti Suzuki to switch to turbo petrol engines. Now, I am not complaining about the power of the engine, if I'm alone in the car. When the car is filled with seven people the car seems underpowered. The sales of Ertiga are rising cause it gets a Cng option in the LXI and the VXI variant, which is best for tour vehicles and people whose main purpose of getting Ertiga is for mileage. Now talking about the build, the crash test results have proved it, it's average but better than Maruti's other budget cars. The quality of the interior is not up to the mark, but the interior of the car looks much more premium than before.
In my point of view, the car is the best option and the only option for those who want a budget-friendly, good-looking, and fuel-efficient car.
